Tenant Resources

The City of La Cañada Flintridge is committed to supporting tenants and safeguarding their rights by promoting awareness and access to vital housing-related resources. As a part of this effort, the City is sharing comprehensive information about nonprofit organizations, tenants unions, legal aid groups, and advocacy networks that work to protect renters from displacement, discrimination, and unfair housing practices. These organizations offer a range of services, including tenant education, legal representation, mediation, and assistance with navigating rental agreements and eviction processes. In addition, the City is helping connect residents with broader housing support programs available throughout Los Angeles County, such as rental assistance, affordable housing opportunities, and emergency shelter options.

WHAT IS A TENANTS UNION?

A tenants union is an organization or association formed and led by renters within a building, neighborhood, or city to discuss and advocate for their collective interests and rights. California also has a statewide coalition of local tenant organizations called Tenants Together, which focuses on renters’ rights issues statewide.
