Mayor Kim Bowman

Mayor Kim Bowman is a father, spouse, a nonprofit attorney, and an advocate for older adults who is working to improve the community to make sure it remains inclusive for people at every stage of life.

Mayor Bowman is special counsel for a Los Angeles County nonprofit legal organization where he provides free legal assistance to those harmed by natural disasters and leads the estates and probate program for low-income individuals and families. He also serves as a major in the United States Air Force Reserve and a member of The Judge Advocate General’s Corps.

In addition to his professional public service roles, Mayor Bowman is past president of the Los Angeles County Commission for Older Adults, a former La Cañada Flintridge Parks and Recreation commissioner, has served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, and teaches law and medical students as a Lecturer in Law at the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law.

Mayor Bowman holds a law degree from the University of the Pacific, a master’s degree in gerontology (aging) from the University of Southern California, a master’s degree in business administration from Westminster University, and bachelor’s degrees in gender studies and political science from the University of Utah. He is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals, the state courts and central district federal court of California, and all state and federal courts in Utah.

Mayor Bowman is married to Cynthia Nguyen, M.D., a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at a nonprofit children’s hospital in Pasadena. Together with their children Alice and Colette, the family makes their home near Glenola Park.

Mayor Pro Tem Jeanne Kim Hobson

Mayor Pro Tem Jeanne Kim Hobson has resided in La Canada Flintridge for over 27 years. Together with her husband Mark, they have raised four children. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in Economics and is a committed business and community advocate.
Mayor Pro Tem Hobson is an experienced professional and worked 18 years at The Walt Disney Company. As Senior Vice President she led organizations responsible for multi-billion dollar revenue while building a culture of transparency, collaboration and innovation. Prior to this she worked in corporate accounting for several major retailers.

Giving back to our community through volunteering and civic service is a priority for Mayor Pro Tem Hobson. She has served on the YMCA of the Foothills Board of Directors for 10 years in various roles including Board Chair, Treasurer and Interim CEO. She also served our city as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner prior to becoming elected to City Council.

Council Member Michael T. Davitt

Council Member Michael Davitt has served on the City Council since 2011. Council Member Davitt has lived in La Cañada Flintridge since childhood. In addition to his full time corporate real estate position, he is a partner in a local business. Council Member Davitt’s public service began in 2003 when he was appointed to the City’s Planning Commission. During this time, he was part of the General Plan update as well as revising codes for more responsible growth in the City. After two terms as a City Commissioner and Planning Commission Chair, he was elected to the City Council in 2011.

Council Member Davitt was re-elected to the City Council in 2015. He has served as Mayor twice during his two terms. Over the years, Council Member Davitt has served on the City Council Hillside & Open Space, Rockridge Terrace, and Specific Plan subcommittees, as well as liaison to the Joint Use Committee. He was also a City Council representative on the Business Support and Development Committee (BSDC), and liaison to the Youth Council. More recently he serves on the Sagebrush Council Advisory Committee and on the YMCA liaison committee.

Council Member Davitt was an instrumental member of the acquisition team for the new City Hall building, leading negotiations and strategy for the much needed new building. He also led the efforts to sell the former city hall building.

Regionally, Council Member Davitt has served on the Executive Board of the California Contract Cities Association (CCCA). He served as Treasurer and then Vice President. This organization is made up of over 72 cities representing over 8 million residents in Southern California. Mayor Davitt served as the Association’s President in 2017. During this time, the Association saw historic growth and became a powerful advocacy voice for cities’ rights. He has been active in both Sacramento and the County for expanding and preserving cities’ rights to contract services.

In addition to his City Council role, Council Member Davitt is the President of the La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Association (2 years). He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Glendale College Foundation and, previously, served on the Board of Directors of Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy. He also served on the Parent Board of St Bede School and served as its President for three years.

Council Member Davitt and his wife Alison have been married for over 30 years and have four children.  They both have been and remain active in many civic and charitable organizations locally and regionally.

Councilman Keith Eich

Councilman Keith Eich was elected to the City Council in March, 2020. Prior to serving on the City Council, he served on the City’s Public Works & Traffic Commission. He has worked as Vice President at LegalZoom since 2011 and previously worked for General Electric and many other companies with a focus on disruptive technology, engineering & operations. In addition to his City Council role, Councilman Eich was an Elder at La Cañada Presbyterian Church and coaches his children’s baseball and softball teams. He also previously served on the Carnegie Mellon University Alumni Association Board and as an Adjunct Professor for graduate students.

Councilman Eich and his wife Lisa were married here in town in 2010 and have three young children. He has educational degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Southern California.

Council Member Stephanie Fossan

Council Member Stephanie Fossan was elected to the City Council in March, 2024. Ms. Fossan and her family have lived in La Cañada Flintridge since 2009. Her involvement in the community includes serving as President and Gala Co-Chair for the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation (LCFEF), as Trustee of the LCFEF Endowment, as Co-Chair of the 2017 School Bond Committee and Co-President of the La Cañada High School Choral Parents Association.

Ms. Fossan started her career in the US State Department, serving as a US diplomat at the American Embassies in London, England and Beijing, China. She later got her MBA and started a 20+ year career in the technology sector – working at Yahoo!, EarthLink, Oracle and two start-ups.

Mrs. Fossan is married to public radio host, Kai Ryssdal. They have four children, all of whom attended LCUSD schools. She has a BA and MBA from Stanford University.
