The City of La Cañada Flintridge and the La Cañada Unified School District (LCUSD) are proud to announce the 2026 State of the City and District Address, held jointly for the first time on April 21, at 6 p.m., at the La Cañada Unified School District Board Room, 4490 Cornishon Avenue, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011. This year’s event will provide a comprehensive public presentation on the City and school district’s shared future.
As the City enters its 50th year, the event will feature unified updates from City and District leadership, along with direct public safety briefings from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s and Fire Departments.
“Our community is at its best when we are working toward solutions together,” said Mayor Kim Bowman. “This joint address is an opportunity to be transparent about the work we are doing today to ensure the next 50 years are as successful as the last. We want to focus on the issues that matter most to our neighbors, from long-term fiscal health to the safety of our families.”
Superintendent Wendy Sinnette emphasized that the school district’s success is deeply intertwined with the City’s strength. “This event highlights our shared commitment to a ‘climate of care’ that extends beyond the classroom,” said Sinnette. “By aligning our efforts with the City and our public safety partners, we are ensuring a supportive environment where our students and their families can thrive. We look forward to sharing our vision for the continued excellence of LCUSD.”
The City will provide a high-level overview of its adopted budget, key infrastructure projects, and housing updates. The School District will present updates from each school site and department aligned with the Governing Board’s Strategic Domains. Representatives from the Sheriff’s and Fire Departments will also share localized information on public safety, including crime trends and emergency preparedness, providing residents with a comprehensive update on the community’s overall readiness.
